Beit Naomi was established about 10 years ago by the Alei Nahar organization with the aim of supporting girls who had dropped out of school and who were at risk. The driving force was a true sense of fulfilling a mission. Everything at Beit Naomi is run on a fully voluntary basis, without any profit.
Following Beit Naomi’s success, the organization decided to open another two facilities for girls who urgently needed a framework outside their homes to help save them from street life. Today the organization operates three hostels in Jerusalem that are open 24/7, 365 days of the year. The girls consider these hostels as their natural home where they sleep, eat all their meals, receive counseling, guidance, therapy, and where they are prepared for life in the future.
Before arriving at Beit Naomi the girls experienced terrible difficulties. Some were victims of humiliation, traumatic abuse, etc., and were forced to find themselves solutions in all sorts of inappropriate places, just hoping to survive the day. On their arrival at Beit Naomi, the girls discovered an environment which cared for their personal safety, provided them with a sympathetic ear, and warm, supportive, and loving care.
In addition to this invaluable activity, the organization hosts single mothers on Shabbat and festivals.
The organization has volunteers who are worthy of praise and admiration for their unremitting work carried out with genuine devotion to help the organization in its mission and cooperate in creating an additional safety net for girls.
